Shira was raised just outside of Boston, Massachusetts where she received her undergraduate degree at Wellesley College and worked in the veterinary field at Angell Animal Hospital. A few years later she graduated from veterinary school at Colorado State University. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington DC, but was drawn back to the mountain west and is excited to serve the Missoula community. Shira has particular interests in soft tissue surgery, exotic animal medicine, wound management, preventative care, and client education. In her free time, Shira enjoys exploring the trails on the back of her horse, but will hike if she has to. She enjoys reading, photography, and traveling. Her true passion is good food. She has three dogs and a corn snake at home.
